Obituary for Charles Lloyd Cobler

Charles Lloyd Cobler was born on February 10, 1944 to Charlie Andrew and Cora (Cox) Cobler in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. He departed this life on February 1, 2019 at his home in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Charles grew up and attended school in Locust Grove, graduating from Locust Grove High School in 1962. On June 19, 1961 he married Joan Marie Mapes and the couple made their home in Pryor. Charles worked for the Union as a brick mason until retirement. He attended and was very active at the Church of Christ in Pryor.
Charles enjoyed golfing, fishing and was always getting trophies from tournaments. He also loved bowling and was an avid OU Sooners fan. Charles was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will deeply missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kris Woods of Pryor and Dena McElroy of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Amanda Busky and companion Mike Steivers of San Antonio, Texas, Brandy Ross and husband Dustin of Glencoe, Oklahoma and Brittany Blackwell and companion Colby Carroll of Pryor; five great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond “Sog” Cobler and wife Sue of Pryor and one sister, Zelda Downing of Locust Grove.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents, Charlie and Cora; brothers, Roy Cobler, Art Cobler, Melt Cobler and Leonard Cobler and sisters, Mildred Miller and Lelia Cobler.
