Obituary for Bobby Best

Robert Colton “Bobby” Best was born on September 6, 2000 to Shane and Jennifer (Engles) Best in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He departed this life on April 27, 2019 in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Bobby grew up and attended school in Pryor and was currently a senior at Pryor High School. He was very accomplished in all aspects of his life. From a very early age, he learned responsibility and the value of hard work. He has been working on the family farm and with the family trucking business all of his life. From branding steers, birthing calves to clearing land and greasing trucks; there isn’t any type of machine or equipment that he could not operate. Bobby also had his own herd of cattle that he had full responsibility of. Bobby had an excellent work ethic and a determination to reach his goals.
During his time at Pryor High School, he was a part of several organizations; Future Farmers of America, Leadership, Ag Leadership and Cherokee Club. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Indian National Honor Society. He was selected as Student of the Month and Student of the Year by the faculty at Pryor High School. Bobby was a teacher cadet and he helped in the special needs class at Lincoln Elementary. He also loved sports and succeeded in wrestling, track, cross country and football.
Bobby was also a student at Rogers State University. He was completing an internship at Redbud Physical Therapy. He had just received his letter of acceptance to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2019, where he planned to major in health and fitness and pursue a career in physical therapy.
Work wasn’t all he knew, he loved to play and have a good time. He had many hobbies; his favorites were hunting, fishing and riding dirt bikes. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. Bobby was a brother to many and friend to all, if you met him then you had a friend. He was kind, loyal and would do anything for anyone. He was also witty and had a way of making you laugh. Bobby was an exceptional young man, his smile and gentle humor are just a couple things his family and friends are going to miss. He was deeply loved and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Shane and Jennifer Best, of the home; his brother, Seth, of the home; his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Brewer; grandparents, Bob and Paula Best of Pryor and Pat and Carolyn Engles of Pryor; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his aunt, Shellee Engles.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, donations can be made to the Bobby Best Memorial Fund on the Stephens-Key obituary page for Bobby.
